It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.As we continue to expand our team to ensure success in developing our new infrastructure, we have created some new roles to support our operations further.The opportunity
We are seeking an Authority to Work Technician to oversee the administration and management of Permits and Isolations. You will be tasked with achieving optimal operational and production goals, in a safe manner while ensuring compliance with relevant Standards, Regulations, Procedures, Polices, Legal requirements and consent conditions. Working with the mining operations and maintenance teams within the DBS Operations you will be providing operational and subject matter expertise with respect to Authority to Work Management Plan and execution of the energy isolation and Authority to Work procedure in the field.Key Accountabilities

• Prepare isolations, permits and sundry equipment for release to Operations and Maintenance Teams.
• Provide technical support in the design, review and approval of complex isolations with respect to all energy types.
• Liaise with content experts to develop Isolation Master Sheets to expand the isolation database
• Maintain Isolation system and information so it is up to date including all controlled documents.
• Ensure appropriate stock levels for all isolation equipment making store stock or purchasing needs.
• Ensure all isolation points in the field are clear and match documented isolation lists.
• Develop and review P&ID documents and ensure field tags match and submit any redlining through the correct workflows.
• Liaise with isolation database vendor for routine improvements and upgrade to system via the service contract.
• Facilitate Isolation/restart of equipment in a safe and efficient manner during shutdowns, breakdown and start-ups.
• Participate in incident investigations as required.
• Facilitate training of others with respect to isolation and Authority to Work.
• Perform the duties of an Authorised Isolator ensuring equipment handed over to maintenance personnel is isolated and tagged in a safe manner in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Demonstrate personal commitment regarding housekeeping practices and maintain Permit Building and equipment to a 5S standard.

About You
You will have several years' experience within mining industry with demonstrated knowledge and experience in permit to Work systems and management together with a high-level of computer literacy and understanding of the statutory regulations relevant to safety and the environment for the mining industry.You will be an individual who has a strong sense of ownership of tasks and accountabilities, a confident and competent communicator who proactively leads, drives, promotes and contributes to safety.A Trade Qualification or equivalent, together with qualifications in Training and Assessment and Confined Spaces will be well regarded.Benefits
