Primary Location VIC - DandenongJob Description Summary Be part of a new way forward for road network management in Victoria!About the RoleWe’re excited to have been selected as Preferred Tenderer for the Victorian Road Maintenance Contract (Metro) – South Central Region!Starting in July this year, we’ll be working across Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs and right down the Mornington Peninsula, delivering routine maintenance, emergency response and defect rectification works, as well as network refurbishment and upgrade projects, under a major long-term contract with the Victorian Government.Our mission is to deliver safer and more reliable journeys for Victorian road users, keep communities better connected, and create a more sustainable road network. - Conducting site/contract safety inductions for VRMC new starters (employees and delivery partner personnel) and monitoring operational compliance with HSEQ procedures and processes by conducting regular inspections and audits
- Providing practical advice and ongoing training to the VRMC workforce on health, safety and environmental risk controls
- Investigating safety incidents and near miss events, capturing key information and improvement actions in Service Stream’s incident reporting management system
- Monitoring progress of improvement actions, analysing safety and environmental performance data and preparing monthly reports
- Supporting delivery partners with specialist HSEQ investigations / assessments
- You’ll have at least five years’ experience working in a road maintenance or civil works environment, including at least two years in safety management roles
- A committed team player who drives for service excellence and continuous improvement, you will also demonstrate:
- A relentless focus on worker, road user and community safety, complying with legislative standards, contract specifications and internal processes
- High levels of self-motivation, exceptional time-management skills and a proven ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal communication, data capture and analysis, report writing and administration skills
- A track record of influencing front line workers, supervisors and management personnel to embed an ‘injury and incident free’ safety culture
