Onsite Automation Engineer
This role is responsible for automation equipment support, maintenance, upgrades, buildouts, and continuous improvement of the facility.
Duties:
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintenance of mechanical equipment (conveyors, robots, motors, pneumatic devices, control devices, scanners, photo-eyes, etc.). Understand equipment operation and basic troubleshooting for equipment controls (PLC, WES, WCS)
- Keep daily logs, perform preventative maintenance, conduct daily inspections, and routine adjustments as needed to keep the automation equipment in good working order.
- Inspect buildings, sites, and equipment for needed repair/maintenance.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests on the automation systems. Troubleshoot issues to determine cause and solution. May require non-shift work.
- Assist with any automation installation and retrofits as needed.
- Support CTDI’s sustainability initiatives.
- Work with all levels of management to define and prioritize workflow.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience with building and automation equipment maintenance.
- Working knowledge of basic carpentry, electrical, warehouse equipment, appliances, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, drywall, boilers, as well as grounds maintenance
- Experience working with outside vendors and contractors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Commercial electrical experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair maintenance issues / turn projects timely and efficiently.
