Guma-Warnii Resources is a Privately Owned Recruitment Agency, servicing Clients across the Mining, EPCM & Resources Industry in WA. Due to our rapid growth we are currently looking for a Project Planner to join our Tier One client's Sustaining Capital Team in Perth.

We are currently seeking an Automation Technology Specialist to join the high performing Mining, Technology and Delivery team within our client's Sustaining Capital division. The successful applicant will be responsible for technology deployments of certain technologies such as Autonomous Drill Systems across Rio Tinto’s Pilbara mining operations.

This is a fly in, fly out role (4:3 roster) however travel will be required consistent with the phase of project delivery.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for deployment of mining technologies such as Autonomous Drill Systems across RTIO Pilbara operations
• Provide regular consult and inputs into project schedules across multiple projects
• Responsible for relevant testing and commissioning works
• Responsible for specialist level QA/QC

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
• A ‘can do’ attitude and proven ability to scope and solve problems
• Relevant technical qualifications
• 5 years technical experience in:
o Engineering (control systems, mechatronics, electrical)
o Mining (Operations Readiness or Production Engineering)
o Operational Technology (OT)
• Demonstrated self-motivation and the ability to work independently
• Strong communication & stakeholder management skills

Desirable: 

• Strong technical expertise and experience within an operational mining      environment
• Experience with deployment of autonomous drill systems
• Experience with technologies such as smart charge trucks and vehicle interaction technology systems
• Experience in commissioning or maintenance of mobile equipment
• Strong stakeholder liaison skills
• Clear communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong IT/OT skills and understanding of Microsoft suite of programs
