Position Purpose
The Aviation Screening Officer’s (ASO) role performs duties relevant to the security of persons and property at the airport as defined by the contract with Adelaide Airport in accordance with the appropriate legislation. The Aviation Security division encompasses the International and Domestic Terminals at Adelaide Airport and special off-site contracts where screening services are required. Employees are expected to apply the highest levels of professionalism through our ‘Security with Service and Integrity’ model whilst operating within a service orientated work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for consistent and standard security practices ensuring passengers and their possessions are checked and cleared prior to departure
- Control access to security sensitive areas, undertaking physical searches, identifying weapons, explosives and prohibited items
- Efficiently co-ordinate the flow of passengers through security screening
- Demonstrate effective communication and sound decision making skills
- Providing consistent high quality customer service
Qualification
- Fully certified and accredited to perform Aviation Screening duties as per the requirements of an Aviation Screening Officer
- Hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
Mandatory
- Hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC)
- Valid Driver’s License-Full or Provisional
- Own reliable transportation
- Full availability to work on a 24/7 rotating roster with a minimum of 56 hours per fortnight.

Experience
- Demonstrated experience in a Customer Service role
- Previous experience as a security guard is highly desirable but not essential
