Your new role

Aviation Screening Officers are the front-line; the heart and soul of Certis Security's Aviation operations at Adelaide Airport. No two days are the same in this exciting role, giving you the chance to use your versatile skillset in many ways working as part of a collaborative, close-knit team. It's an incredible time to join the Certis team at Adelaide Airport, as we gear up for a period of transformation and growth. While the specific duties of an ASO will vary throughout your shift, you'll commonly find yourself:

• Operating various points of the screening process; ensuring passengers, staff, visitors, and their possessions are safely checked and cleared for entry
• Controlling access to security sensitive areas by undertaking physical searches, identifying dangerous or hazardous items, and remaining vigilant at all times
• Screening for any security threats in checked and oversized baggage
• Most importantly - providing the best possible customer service in a safe and professional manner!

Our ASOs come from a variety of backgrounds and skillsets, and that's what makes the Certis team so great. To help set you up for success in your new role, some of the important things you'll bring are:

• Strong customer service skills, with a demonstrated ability to assist customers and provide information in a clear and understandable manner
• An exceptional focus on safety and compliance; you pride yourself on your attention to detail - previous security experience is desirable but not essential
• Enjoyment working in a team-based environment and an understanding that we all need to collaborate to achieve our goals
• A steely mindset, with an ability to make decisions and operate effectively under pressure, even at the busiest of times

It is a condition of employment that you must have the ability to hold an Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC), which will be provided by Certis Security. In addition, you must be able to commit to full availability across a 24/7 roster comprised of early morning AM shifts and evening PM shifts, with a minimum of 56 hours per fortnight. This does mean that you will require a valid driver's license (full or provisional) and a reliable vehicle, as public transport does not run to the airport 24/7.
