The Role & Team
We have a unique opportunity for a passionate Data Engineer to join our Technology department on a full-time, permanent basis. Reporting into our Lead Data Engineer, your day-to-day will see you look after our legacy and modern data stacks. In addition to this, you will be involved in projects across regional ANZ that may see you inject, retrieve and model data.
This role involves building strong relationships cross-departmentally, as well as within the ANZ region. You will partner with the broader local data team to identify and understand areas for opportunity to deliver organisation wide insights. In return, as our new Data Engineer, you will be instrumental in accelerating robust decision making, driving consistency and enabling self-service for the business. This is your opportunity to migrate & transform data, creating views that can be utilised across our business.
You will facilitate the use of data within the data team as well as allowing the benefits of data to be liberated across the organisation and within our digital transformation.

What we are looking for
- Strong ability to build rapport and relationships cross-departmentally and within the ANZ region.
- Ability to understand business needs and use your expertise to advise better outcomes.
- Good technical ability and understanding of how big data platforms work, as well as the use of data development software (ETL packages) and programming languages (usually SQL and Python) to develop tools to extract, transform and load data, as well as to document the creation of these tools.
- Excellent communication skills as you will need to discuss technical and business processes in simple language to people at all levels.
- Experience in the below tools or similar technologies and tools:
- Azure Data Lake
- Azure Data Factory
- Azure Databricks (inc. SQL and Python)
- Azure SQL Server
- Power BI Premium
