Barista & All Rounder

We are looking for an energetic Barista & All-rounder to join our team. The role has a rotating roster between the early opens and closing shifts. The ideal candidate should have a passion for coffee & must have experience crafting high quality coffee beverages and willing to take control of the coffee section and help out team when require & needed.

• Prepare hot and cold cafe beverages including hot food
• Greet customers and create a welcoming & positive first encounter
• Prepare the store for opening & closing, including the presentation of freshly baked goods in counter displays
• Ensuring the Patisserie is kept clean at all times and food safety guidelines are followed
• Track and restock inventory of items required in the shop front & counter (e.g., stock of cold beverage fridge) and place orders as required, ensuring items are delivered in good condition

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a Barista in Australia
• Experience preparing cold/hot beverages in a busy cafe and sound knowledge of grinder adjustment
• Excellent customer service & interpersonal skills with neat, tidy presentation
• Be energetic, positive, a fast learner with a can-do attitude

Reliable punctuality

• Operate POS system, cash registers and handling of cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Follow and maintain all food safety guidelines and OH&S
• Ability to work flexible hours, including opening / closing

We’re located in Forest Hill Chase Shopping Centre, a 2-minute walk from the bus station. The iconic bakery brand and cafe has served up an extensive selection of high-quality pastries, cakes, pies and coffee to the community for over 100 years.

We are keen to hear from those looking for a casual long-term opportunity, who have previous proven hospitality experience with a minimum availability of 2- 3 shifts per week during the hours of 7am to 5pm - Monday to Friday.
