Opportunities exist at Brisbane Boys’ College for experienced coaches across the GPS Basketball program. We provide an opportunity for our boys to develop both in Basketball skills and strategies, as well as athletically, in a setting that encourages individual and team participation and achievement.
The BBC Basketball pre-season commences in Term 2, (15 April) and the season concludes at the end of Term 3, (12 September). During the June-July school holidays, there will be training and trials in preparation for the upcoming season.
During Term 2, each year level trains at different times and days during the week. In Term 3, training times will include at least two sessions and a Saturday match each week during the GPS season.
Specific Duties
- Follow the Basketball program specific to the assigned team.
- Engage boys in the Basketball program.
- Organise and lead training sessions for the assigned team.
- Attend all training sessions and games for the assigned team.
Selection Criteria
- A proven coaching record with school age boys.
- Suitable Basketball qualifications.
- A current driver’s licence.
- First Aid/CPR qualifications (desired).
- A current Blue Card for working with children.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of basketball.
About BBC
Brisbane Boys' College is an established GPS day and boarding school. The school was founded in 1902 by Mr Arthur Rudd, who had a vision of molding boys to be worthy leaders and good citizens – a vision which remains today. The College occupies a 13-hectare site at Toowong.
