Description
The purpose or prime function of this position is to be achieved through:
- Supervising and coordination of the Beef Boning Room.
- Responsible for the technical compliance of the Beef Boning Room, this encompasses:
- room set up
- prestart checks
- training
- production
- daily reporting
- employee administration
- hygienic processing
- end of day wash down
- monthly department cleaning.
- Ensure that the department has trained first aiders, fire wardens and safety representatives at the prescribed level.
- Ensuring compliance with company Work Health Safety Management System
- Fostering a culture of continuous improvement across product, production and processes so as to improve the company’s efficiency.
- Being aware of relevant legislation, departmental policies, guidelines and work instructions specific to your department or role.
Key responsibilities
- Proactively direct and oversee the training of all staff in the department, specifically oversee the training plans and progress of individual employees. Liaise with the Training Department to coordinate the training/retraining as per requirements.
- A key member of the Risk Assessment Team providing specialist knowledge of the department.
- Lead the health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring that your safety and the safety of others is paramount. Maintaining a strong workplace safety environment and culture.
- Share and distribute relevant Company, Health and Safety Policies, Procedures and Bulletins to the staff in the department.
- Ensuring employees PPE (Personal, Protective, Equipment) is worn, in good repair, fit for purpose and within the company guidelines.
- Ensuring that employees are following the approved written work instructions that they are signed off for.
- Personal Development Plans and Coaching is undertaken and completed at the prescribed frequency.
- Responsible for the implementation of Change Management for the department.
- A key member of the Incident investigation process
- Staying informed of Work Health Safety Requirements and Regulations.
- Undertake Toolbox meetings as per the required frequency.
