TASCO Supports is a boutique service and registered NDIS provider offering a range of innovative services in disability, mental health, and family services. We focus on the provision of Specialist and Therapeutic Supports and Support Coordination. We operate across the Northern Rivers region of NSW in Ballina, Byron, Lismore, Casino and up to Tweed Heads. TASCO Supports works creatively with people who have a disability, their families and Carers to achieve a quality of life by co-creating opportunities to pursue goals and aspirations. At present TASCO Supports operates as a Sole-Trader.
Qualifications & experience
- Certificate IV level or graduate qualifications in disability, community services and human services sectors. Current registration with NDIS Commission as a core level behaviour Support Practitioner or willingness to engage in the process of gaining that qualification.
- NSW WWCC You will be required to complete a confidentiality agreement. You must have the right to work in Australia. It is preferred that you have a current Class C Australian Driver’s License. It is preferred that you have a currently registered, comprehensively insured vehicle.
- National Police Check Clearance. NDIS Worker Screening Check (can be completed on induction). NDIS Commission Worker Orientation Module (can be completed on induction). Current First Aid and CPR (can be gained during the 3-month trial).
Tasks & responsibilities
- The Behaviour Support Practitioner will provide evidence-based Behaviour Support services to young people and adults that are responsive to individual needs, in a way that reduces the occurrence and impact of behaviours of concern and minimizes the use of restrictive practices.
- Conduct behavioural assessments and develop intervention plans to meet the individual needs of a person in line with best practice principles.
- Undertake a range of evidence-based, person-centered assessments to inform the development of Behaviour Support plans and strategies in accordance with assessment findings and the needs and wants of the person with disability.
- Collaborate with the participant, their families, carers, guardians, and other stakeholders in the development of behaviour management strategies to maximise the person’s quality of life in line with assessed needs and individual goals.
- Monitor, review and evaluate support strategies to ensure they are implemented correctly and consistently to improve the quality and effectiveness of behaviour
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all internal and external stakeholders in a manner that is responsive to the needs of participants.
- Write a range of reports and other communications in a professional manner, which meets the requirements of the intended audience.
- Work cooperatively and in partnership with other health professionals and service providers to ensure a multidisciplinary approach to service delivery.
- Maintain appropriate records including accurate clinical notes. • Participates in professional development opportunities to support continuous learning relevant to the position. Identify and implement policies and practices that are benchmarked against best practice standards.
- Liaise with, and provide reports to the NDIS, Support Coordination, external organisations and other referrers/ funding bodies as required.
