Job DescriptionAbility Action Australia's multidisciplinary team covering the St George and Sutherland shire areas is continuing to grow! We are now looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioner who has current suitability with the NDIS Commission at the Core level.
The role will include...
- Assisting participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive Behaviour Support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions and strengths
- Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team

About you
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication, verbal and written, skills
- Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
- Solution focused
- Passionate about what you do and pride yourself on delivering exceptional customer service
- Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - at least at Core level as a Behaviour Support Practitoner
- Degree qualified in an allied health discipline is strongly preferred
