Job DescriptionAbility Action Australia's south west Sydney team are looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners who has current suitability at the Proficient or Advanced level, as confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supporting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies as per the positive Behaviour Support framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions and strengths
- Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced Behaviour Support Practitioners

About you
- Considerable experience as a Behaviour Support Practitioner in the NDIS
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication, written and verbal, skills
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector and mentoring less experienced practitioners
- Solution focus, proactive attitude, and motivated by improvement as well as the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Looking for a fun, collaborative and supportive work environment
- Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - at the Proficient or Advanced level as a Behaviour Support Practitoner
- Completed a degree level qualification in an allied health discipline
