ABOUT THE ROLE

The Belonging & Inclusion Lead is a key role in the People, Culture and Safety (PCS) team, responsible for supporting Chisholm’s People Plan, promoting a positive and diverse workforce and a workplace culture that embraces inclusion and equality.  The role will work across Chisholm, partnering with and key stakeholders to foster belonging in the workplace. The primary focus of this role is on employees and the workplace, however from time to time the role includes initiatives that also includes students.

The key objectives of the position include:

  • Manage current and future Gender Equity Action plans including reporting.
  • Lead the implementation of agreed actions for Chisholm’s People Plan Strategy’s theme Positive and Diverse
  • Develop and lead a program of ongoing professional development of legislation relevant to gender equity, anti-discrimination, and a positive duty to prevent and respond to sexual harassment.  
  • Lead, manage and support Chisholm’s Social Justice Charter and Action Plan
  • Lead, manage and support Chisholm’s Belonging and Inclusion Plans
  • Lead and manage Chisholm’s Plan to prevent and respond to sexual harassment.
  • Lead and manage Chisholm’s response to Family violence and gender-based violence as this relates to employees.
  • Manage the governance and reporting requirements related to the accountability of this position.
  • Review and lead strategies related to feedback from the People Matter Survey about employee’s responses to gender equity, discrimination, sexual harassment and Belonging and Inclusion

The role is an active member of the PCS team, working across the team and at all levels of the organisation to facilitate operational outcomes. 

ABOUT YOU

You will have the following qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Formal qualifications in gender, women’s studies, social sciences, international policy development and communications and demonstrated recent work experience in  discipline relevant to the position.  
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluating gender inclusive solutions that transform environments and improve  ability to deliver excellence
  • Understanding of sector approaches, trends, good practices in gender mainstreaming and gender-transformative programming
  • Familiarity with womens rights organizations & inclusive community (Disability, First Nations) networks locally and globally.
  • Ability to manage time, set priorities, plan, and organise ones own work to achieve required outcomes, within time constraints and conflicting demands.
  • Problem solving skills and the capacity to quickly solve workforce challenges within Chisholm’s people governance frameworks
  • Ability to work in alignment with Chisholm’s priorities and work to achieve these within best timelines for the organisation
  • A Commitment to customer focused stakeholder management, influencing skills, the ability to work at all levels and build collaborative and cooperative relationships with key stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and develop the capability of a team continually building team skills and competencies
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication and presentation skills with excellent self-organisation skills
