Role Details
The Billing & Claiming Officer is a role within Financial Reform and is accountable to the Billing & Claiming Team Leader for:
  • Providing support services within Lumary (CRM system) to bill and claim billable hours funded by the NDIS for services provided to Disability Services’ clients;
  • Assisting and supporting with reconciling revenue received (General Ledger) for claims made in the NDIS Portal;
  • Assisting in creating planned-managed and self-managed invoices including debt management;
  • Assisting with client vendor set-up, generation of claims, raising invoices through Shared Services SA (SSSA) and invoice enquiries from clients, families and Plan Managers;
  • Supporting the Finance Billing and Claiming team to achieve business unit objectives; and
  • Contributing to the effective maintenance of relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Outcomes & Accountabilities:
1. Exercise initiative in the application of established practices and procedures relating to billing and claiming.
2. Assist in preparing and reconciling monthly revenue.
3. Assist in invoice creation process and debt-management process for unpaid invoices.
4. Assist with client vendor set-up, generation of claims, raising invoices through Shared Services SA (SSSA) and invoice enquiries from clients, families and Plan Managers.
5. Work collaboratively to develop effective working relationships with peers, staff and stakeholders in order to deliver quality and timely communications and services.
6. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, families and plan managers as well as other agencies – internal & external - providing services for relevant stakeholders.
Note: Any other responsibilities in line with the classification level of the role as assigned by Line Manager and/or the Department. The responsibilities as specified above may be altered in accordance with the changing requirements of the role.
Special Conditions
National Police Check required.
An appropriate degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, Economics or related discipline is desirable.

Finance and Business Services leads the monitoring and management of the department’s financial data, execute a range of financial authorisations and compliance, provide strategic financial advice, lead financial reform projects, and oversee assets and facilities, fleet, records management and internal audit services.
The division is a key component in ensuring our department is compliant and accountable, and ultimately helps enable us to deliver effective services and supports for the South Australian community
