Tamworth Hospital is one of the New England's largest regional hospitals, recently refurbished to boast brand new, state of the art facilities. Tamworth Hospital is a major Rural Referral Hospital providing services to the North-West area of NSW. In July 2015, the doors opened for to a new $220 million acute services redevelopment; equipped with 348 treatment spaces; we conduct over 8000 surgical procedures per annum over five theatre spaces.
- This is an area wide position reporting to the Biomedical team Engineer and based at Tamworth Hospital.
- You will primarily be part of the team supporting regional hospitals across the New England region.
- You may undertake reasonable travel including overnight stays in accordance with the duties of this position.
- Support to major hospitals including Armidale and Tamworth and working with the wider Biomedical team will be required occasionally.
- Performing preventative maintenance procedures on medical equipment which requires regular servicing to ensure patient safety and correct diagnosis/treatment.
About the role:
- Repairing medical equipment – broken medical equipment hampers the delivery of patient care and so it is essential that equipment be repaired in a timely manner.
- Testing medical equipment for safety and function to AS/NZS-3551 to ensure patient safety and correct.
- An initial level of qualification and training/experience will be sort through the selection criteria.
- HNELHD mandatory training will be delivered through HNELHD Orientation programs and My Health Learning.
- Identified Clinical Equipment Manufacturers training to support the successful applicant will be delivered where appropriate based on the requirements of Biomedical support for the HNELHD.
About you:
- A qualification from an Institute of TAFE at least equivalent to the AQF Certificate 4 level. Acceptable qualifications include Electronics & Communications Certificate, Associate Diploma in Electronics, Diploma in Electronics or Advanced Diploma in Electronics.
- A team focused individual with above average communication skills and a responsible attitude that reflects the duty of care required in this position.
- Exposure or experience in ICT Networks desirable.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence and willingness to travel for work purposes.
