There is an exciting opportunity for you to join Biomedical Technology Services in the Department of Health! We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Biomedical Technician to join our high performing team on a permanent full-time basis. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team delivering technical services including repairs, planned maintenance and other technology support services to ensure the safety and effectiveness of electronic and/or mechanical health technology equipment and systems.
The Biomedical Technician will deliver routine technical services under the general supervision of more senior practitioners (including installations, commissioning, repairs, and preventive maintenance) and assist more senior practitioners with the management of locally based resources including spare parts, manuals and test equipment.
Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme:
Eligible health practitioners who move to Queensland from an interstate or international jurisdiction to take up permanent employment may receive up to $20,000 (pro rata) incentive payments under the Queensland Health Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme.
What we are looking for:
- Knowledge and experience in electronic and/or mechanical technologies, general engineering and other technologies associated with health technology equipment.
- Ability to apply established methods and procedures in completing routine technical tasks (such as the installation, maintenance and development of health technology or similar equipment) as well as ability to complete more complex tasks under the guidance of more experienced practitioners.
- Willingness to provide guidance and support to students and less experienced practitioners.
- High level of interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders/clients under the direction of more senior practitioners.
- Commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.
- Honesty, integrity and respect for all staff, clients and other health care workers.
