About the role
Mater Health has an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Technician to join the Engineering and Maintenance team in a permanent full-time opportunity, based at the Mater Private Hospital in Rockhampton.
As a Biomedical Technician, you will be required to perform diverse technical tasks on a day to day basis under supervision as it relates to service support of general biomedical equipment, and to contribute to the Biomedical team’s goals.
- Base Salary $73k – $108k (HP3) + Super + leave loading
- Great conditions including a 9 Day Fortnight
- $15,900 Salary Packaging
What you’ll be doing
Key responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
- Deliver routine biomedical technical services and undertake a range of tasks under the direction and supervision of more senior practitioners (for example: acceptance testing of new equipment and routine preventative maintenance of existing equipment)
- Work cooperatively and effectively in a multidisciplinary team under the direction of more senior practitioners
- Apply established methods and procedures in the interests of monitoring quality control
- Independently make decisions and carry out routine tasks in relation to the work that is within the sphere of responsibility (decisions and independence will increase over time)
- Participate in the introduction of new technologies or processes in the work area
- Attend training for continuing professional and technical development
- Participate in 24-hour, 7 day on-call roster
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Experience with anesthetics is highly regarded.
- The successful applicant must hold at least an Associate Diploma (if graduating prior to the year 2000) or a Diploma or Advanced Diploma (or equivalent) (Year 2000 onwards), and/or extensive operational experience.
- Restricted Electrical Work License (competencies 1, 3 and 5) as issued by Electrical Workers and Contractors Board (Qld)
- Demonstrates a competent level of knowledge, expertise and skill in Biomedical Electronic Engineering services
- Demonstrated ability to apply established methods and procedures in completing routine Biomedical Service tasks, as well as ability to complete more complex tasks under the guidance of more experienced practitioners.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team under the direction of more senior practitioners
- Desirable to have completed formal IT network training, example Cisco education
