The Biosecurity ManagerVarroa Education and Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for all aspects of project management to achieve the Victorian outcomes in the National Varroa Transition to Management (T2M) Plan relating to building industry resilience through beekeeper Education and Engagement.
The position of Biosecurity ManagerVarroa Education and Engagement Coordinator will take the lead role in all stages of project initiation, planning, delivery, evaluation and reporting, as well as managing relationships with stakeholders, fostering and leading innovation and continuous improvement.
This role has been created as part of the T2M and is overseen by the National Varroa T2M Coordination Group.
You will be energetic, thoughtful and have enthusiasm for working closely with both internal staff and various external stakeholders associated with the beekeeping industry to deliver quality services to the Victorian community.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate tertiary degree in Agricultural Science, Science or an equivalent science qualification is mandatory.
- Comprehensive understanding of the Victorian honey bee and pollination industries including the range of biosecurity threats in commercial/semi commercial and recreational apiaries.
- A background in science communication, or specialist skills in industry development and stakeholder management is desirable.
This is a fixed term position available for a period of 18 months. The work location for this position is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available.
