About the job:
- In this role you will be based at the John Hunter Hospital Maternity Service, you will be joining the dynamic and innovative leadership and Management Team in the Maternity and Gynaecology Service with travel to Newcastle Community Health Service.
- You will lead and manage the Birra Li Aboriginal Maternal and Child Health Services in providing culturally responsive maternal, infant and child health care services to families living in the Awabakal and Worimi communities located in the Port Stephens, Newcastle and Lake Macquarie Local Government Areas. Birra Li services include Pregnancy and Post-birth Care, Cultural Support, Child and Family Health Care (blue book checks), Immunisation, Specialist Breastfeeding Support, Social Work Services, Health Education and referrals to other services.
You will be supported in the role with:
- Monthly meetings with the Service Manager Maternity and Gynaecology.
- Access to clinical supervision.

- Avenues to further develop your leadership & management skills.

- Support to attend relevant forums & conferences.

Our successful candidate will possess the following:

- Applicants must be female. This is a genuine qualification under Section 31 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
- Registered Nurse / Midwife with current authority to practice with AHPRA with tertiary qualification in Health Management.
- Eligible to drive in NSW.
