Form of workUnder the guidance of the F&B Manager and with the backing of the Senior Leadership Team, the Team Leader assumes responsibility for overseeing front-of-house (FOH) operations to guarantee a top-notch guest experience. While this role encompasses various areas, there is a notable emphasis on managing Club Italia Sporting Club’s Bistro & Private Dining. In the absence of the F&B Manager, the Team Leader takes charge of food & beverage operations within the club.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operations Management: Supervise all facets of daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling, inventory management, and cash handling.
- Promotions: Creating diverse concepts and putting them into action to boost business.
- Staff Supervision: Provide leadership and guidance to venue staff by assigning duties, conducting regular staff meetings, and monitoring performance.
- Quality Control: Monitor the quality and presentation of food, beverages, and service in the venue.
- Guest Experience: Deliver friendly and professional food & beverage service to ensure an 'Exceptional Guest Experience' for all patrons.
- Functions: Collaborate with functions departments to organise private dining functions and special promotions. Manage setup and breakdown of event rooms and coordinate on the day as needed, liaising with internal stakeholders for a successful outcome.
- Compliance: Work with staff to ensure adherence to RSA legislation and bistro opening and closing procedures.
Our Preferred Candidate:
The ideal candidate possesses substantial F&B experience, either in a leadership role in a large restaurant or in a functions centre where delivering exceptional events is second nature. A natural leader, you excel in communication and know how to bring out the best in your team. You are not afraid of difficult conversations and can address staff performance to ensure they feel both supported and corrected.
