Board of Engineering Excellence – Members

The Board of Engineering Excellence will provide engineering advice and leadership to the ACT Government.
The Board, supported by the ACT Chief Engineer, will comprise government, education and industry leaders who contribute insight and expertise to inform strategic directions to help shape our engineering practices for the benefit of the community.

The Board will:

• advocate for the engineering sector;
• provide strategic advice to government on emerging engineering issues;
• promote innovation and current industry trends in the engineering profession;
• provide strategic advice on engineer workforce planning for the ACT Government and industry; and
• support the implementation of the ACT's Professional Engineers Registration Scheme, as required by the Professional Engineers Registrar.

Job Description

Board members will require skills and experience as they relate to engineering advocacy, innovation, leadership, workforce development and built form outcomes.

The Board will be made up of:

• up to three independent members to represent senior professional engineers in the fields of civil, electrical, environmental, fire safety, mechanical or structural engineering;
• an independent member to represent the tertiary education sector;
• an invitee to represent Engineers Australia; and
• the ACT Chief Engineer.
