About the role
We are looking for an experienced replacement Boarding House Supervisor to join the Walford team in July 2024. The role will be 20.75 hours per week with the possibility of ongoing shifts at the conclusion of the contract period in December 2024.
Working collaboratively with the Head of Boarding, the successful candidate has the responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of the girls in our Boarding House. The role encompasses a range of responsibilities while overseeing the effective operation of the Boarding House during a variety of weekday, weekend, and overnight shifts. The supervisor provides support and assistance to boarding students in our safe, caring, positive and supportive environment.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- A compassionate and thorough understanding of adolescent girls and the challenges they may face living away from home.
- The ability to relate effectively with our boarders.
- An understanding of and ability to relate to students from a wide range of cultural and geographical backgrounds.
- Ability to work as part of a team to ensure consistency and willingness to contribute to the supportive and positive culture in our Boarding House.
- An understanding of the importance of confidentiality and maintaining this through verbal and written communications.
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
- Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education and Care (Fundamentals and Masterclass).
- First Aid Certificate.
