Mount Isa Mines are currently seeking a Boilermaker to join the Maintenance department reporting to the George Fisher Mine Fixed Surface Assets Supervisor. This role will be residentially based in Mount Isa.

The Role
We are looking for a qualified Boilermaker with a strong involvement in all aspects of maintenance, including routine maintenance, repairs and servicing to join us in the Maintenance department at George Fisher Mine. In this role you will carry out routine scheduled maintenance tasks, trouble shooting and completing breakdown repairs. You will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on planned maintenance.
Reporting to the Fixed Surface Assets Supervisor, you will have the ability to make decisions, work to meet deadlines and exceptional communication skills. The roster for this role is on a 4 on 4 off, 4 on 2 off day shift only.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Repairing mobile plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner
- Responding to breakdowns with the ability to prioritise to effectively manage downtime to a minimum
- Contributing to continuous improvement projects ; and
- Demonstrating a high standard of professional workmanship and discretionary effort at all times
You will have the following skillset and attributes:
- Safety as a core belief with a solution seeking attitude
- Boilermaker trade qualification
- Australian manual drivers licence
- Previous experience with Crushing Assets - conveyor belts, hydraulic system, pumps and compressors
- Ability to thrive on new challenges, responsibilities and be willing to acquire new skills
- Sound understanding of workplace OH&S
