Role Description:
Our client currently provides industrial maintenance and fabrication services to the mining industry.
Duties
- Review drawings & specifications to determine job requirements
- Select correct materials for the job to be cut
- Mark out material such as steel plate, pipe, PFC etc in preparation for cutting or bending
- Cutting of marked out items as per dimensions on drawings using oxy cutting torches, band saw etc
- If required bend items to specifications on drawings by using a press or heating where required
- Preparing items using power or hand tools ready for assembly
- Assemble job items using hand tools & measuring equipment & tack weld together
- Measure & examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications before welding
- Weld components & framework using a variety of welding processes
- Inspect completed works & grind, sand, polish to required finish using hand & power tools
- Trade certification (Cert III in Fabrication Trade or relevant experience)
- Minimum 3 years' experience

- Strong commitment towards safety and quality
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Ability to pass a medical and D&A screen
- Forklift and EWP are desirable but not essential
- Structural steel experience is required; MIG, Arc + Flux-Core welding.
- 12 hour shifts - Monday - Friday.
- Flat rate of pay
