The role
Our bookkeeper/accounts position offers a competitive salary with the opportunity to work completely from home with flexible hours. Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the day-to-day accounting transactions. Duties include bank reconciliations, managing and assisting with Accounts payable and receivable.
- Supporting company operations by sourcing medical consumables for mine sites as and when required and keeping track of delivery.
- Preparing and processing fortnightly payrolls. Assisting with staff queries when required.
- Preparation and control of month end Sales invoices.
- Support the finance director with monthly and annual tax related issues as and when required (BAS, FBT, Payroll Tax and Income Tax)
- Implementing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the accuracy of financial records, to comply and adhere to deadlines and due dates.
- Assist the finance director in analysing financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Assisting with various other industry related reporting requirements.
- Support Doctors, Paramedics and Emergency Service staff with financial related queries and any other head office (adhoc) related queries when required.
What you'll need to be successful
- 5+ years of practical experience working in a similar role with exposure to processing invoices, accounts, credit card transactions and purchase orders.
- A working knowledge of MYOB or similar accounting packages, and a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Sharepoint, Word and Excel).
- A meticulous approach to work, ensuring a high degree of accuracy in all aspects of the role.
- Ability to organise time effectively and manage competing priorities.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and adapt quickly, maintaining a positive and proactive attitude.
