Roadside Civil Solutions Pty Ltd located at Underwood, QLD is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. This role requires a professional with a strong background in accounting practices and principles, capable of managing financial records with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information within our internal accounting systems, maintaining effective internal control mechanisms.
- Manage and train accounting and bookkeeping staff, ensuring accuracy in financial ledgers and cost of goods sold information.
- Prepare financial reports for management and regulatory bodies, perform financial audits, provide tax and financial advice.
- Assess and report on operational costs, and income and expenditures.
- Prepare and ensure compliance of tax returns and financial statements.
- Implement and manage accounting systems; provide advice on computer-based accounting systems.
- Analyse transactions, incorporating unforeseen costs into budgets.
- Provide guidance on budgeting strategies and accounting policies, ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Report financial risks and budget discrepancies to management.
- Develop budgets and financial projections.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory reporting and taxation requirements.
- Advise directors on financial analyses concerning operating costs, product line profitability, and other financial metrics.
Other Financial Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and propose improvements to internal accounting policies.
- Assess and upgrade accounting systems as necessary to meet business or legal changes.
- Facilitate the preparation and filing of tax returns and statutory reports.
Required Skills, Education, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in an accounting role post-qualification.
- Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles.
- Experience with finance software packages, including MS Office and advanced Excel.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
Work Hours: 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Salary: $81,900 plus superannuation per annum
