Job Title: Bookkeeper – Maternity Cover
Location: Blackheath, Western Cape
Salary Range: Market-related
Reporting to: Junior Financial Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bookkeeper to maintain accurate financial records for our company. The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing financial transactions, posting debits and credits, reconciling accounts, and ensuring that all financial records are accurate and up to date. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and be proficient in bookkeeping software.
This job profile is not an exclusive list of responsibilities and could be changed from time-to-time per business requirements.
Key responsibilities:
· Maintenance of customer profiles on relevant software program which will involve updating the customer details as and when changes take place, e.g. updating contact details, e-mail addresses, etc.
· Processing of invoices, payments, accruals, provisions, and journals
· Ensure that all payments and receipts are updated daily so that that all financial accounting transactions the team is responsible for are reflected in the trial balance.
· Ensuring that both debtors and creditors age analysis are cleared on a weekly basis.
· Reconciliation on debtors, creditors, bank, petty cash transactions
· Generating and sending out monthly invoices to our customers.
· Sending out monthly statements to customers, specifically to those that are in arrears with their account.
· Providing daily support on all outstanding queries from customers as and when required.
· Ad-hoc accounting duties
· General assistance to the Junior Finance Manager and Business Head.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Matric with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in debtors and creditor’s function (Degree/Diploma in accounting would be an added advantage)
· Must have working knowledge of accounting package such as Pastel, etc. together with sound VAT knowledge.
· Well spoken, good communication skills, verbal and written in English.
· Must have Excel, Word, Outlook experience.

· Must be able to work independently, as well as part of a team.
· Must be able to manage own time, effectively.
