About us

Elbaite is a fast growing fintech, and cryptocurrency start-up based in Melbourne CBD. Elbaite is Australia's safest cryptocurrency exchange, with security, and customer service our highest priority. The team is small, but extremely tight together, and we are looking to add another to our small family as we kick goals in 2024.

We are looking for someone to essentially help us organise, file, and schedule our bookkeeping, and administration activities.

About the role

The position will be part-time at first, but with the opportunity to become full-time if requested. It will be for 3 days per week, with the weekly hours being very flexible with your schedule. Essential to your success in this role will be your excellent organisational and English communication skills. You'll be required to be able to communicate well, organised, professional, willingness to learn, and capable of working independently.

This is a dual role, 50% of the time you'll be assisting in bookkeeping and accounting matters, and the other 50% you'll be assisting in administration, and operations.

Extensive training will be provided to the successful applicant.

Eligibility criteria 

  • Experience in bookkeeping and accounting. Preferable you have studied accounting or have worked in accounting/bookkeeping in the past.
  • Supervisory, management and team leadership skills. Excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong writing skills - There will be many instances where you will have to write.
  • Intermediate computer skills.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability

Tasks & responsibilities

  • Manage the office on a day to day basis and liaise with the other team members
  • Bookkeeping and data entry
  • Accounts Receivable and Payable
  • Assisting in preparing and organising various financial requirements such as the accounting, and tax reporting obligations.
  • Creating, and filing in forms
  • Creating reports for the operations, compliance and financial activities.
  • Help the company ensure compliance by working with the compliance officer, and other team members
  • Research, and analyse projects, and help integrate new suppliers, vendors, or processes.
  • Taking notes, and organising files of the organisation in efficient ways
  • Anything else that may be required in order to support team members and the business.
