This is a great opportunity for either an experienced Branch Manager, or an Operations Manager/Supervisor looking to take their next career step.
You will take on the senior role in one of our Darwin Branch, with all local staff reporting through to you, and responsibility for management of all company assets in the branch (vehicles, containers, forklifts, property, etc). Additionally, will have oversight of local staff recruitment and retention, commercial activities, and sales and marketing,
You ideally have previous experienced as a Branch Manager, but we are also very open to candidates with a strong removals / operations management background and are committed to providing training and support to ensure that you succeed in this challenging role.
Operationally, you will manage a blend of full time and casual removalists/offsiders and drivers, as well as removalist subcontractors. Your success in this role will be determined by your ability to efficiently manage costs during the off-peak season and ramp up the operational capabilities of your removalists crews to service our demanding customers during the peak season of November to February. Financial and operational KPIs in the role are related to the management of both those seasons.
Ensuring all policies, procedures, processes and other internal controls are carried out to ensure the sustainable and successful operation of the business is critical, as is the achievement of customer satisfaction targets and a constant stream of five-star reviews.

The Karaco Group of companies comprises of a number of furniture removalist companies in Queensland and the Northern Territory. They are located as follows:

· A&R Removals based in Townsville and Cairns.

Whybirds is a family run business, which originally formed back in 1857, making it the oldest removal company in Australia.
Branch Manager responsibilities:
The Branch Manager will be responsible to the Group General Manager for:
· All aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Branch.
· Commercial/business and partnership development.
· The day-to-day management of all key accounts.
· All financial, budgetary and staffing aspects of the Branch.
Job Description
The Branch Manager’s job description will cover the following areas:
· Stakeholder management both internal and external.
· Formulating the overall strategy and business plan for the Branch, ensuring the successful delivery of the forecast revenue and profit targets.
· Building a high performing Branch and developing the talent of the team through formal mentoring and knowledge transfer practices, succession planning and training.
· The overall management and monitoring of all Branch activities including subcontractor services
· Setting and ensuring that KPI’s are met.
· Motivating and driving the Branch to achieve set targets.
· Maintaining operational excellence at all times and achieving the requisite customer satisfaction survey KPIs.
· Leading the response to tenders and RFQ’s for new business.
· Winning new clients and proactively seeking new business.
· Developing and maintaining relationships with high value account holders and partners.
· Representing the Branch as part of the Karaco Group of companies.
· Controlling costs in line with growth and business plan projections.
· Responsible for the formal reporting of the business’s performance against budgets, business plan, and other KPI criteria of the division.
Experience and Qualifications
The successful candidate must possess:
· At least 5 years’ experience at a senior operations management level in removals
· Proven ability to create positive working relationships with key account holders.
· Strong leadership and motivation skills.
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
· Ability to work under pressure in a challenging environment
· Problem solving aptitude.
And ideally, we are looking for the below experience:
· Previous exposure to managing international removals
· A working knowledge of the market in the Northern Territory and ability to demonstrate a solid network of contacts in this field.
· Previous experience working with military/defence/government moves
· Proven commercial flair and proven ability to develop new business, increase revenues and improve bottom line profits through close management of OPEX.
· Preferably located in QLD or the Northern Territory, but we are prepared to relocate the right candidate if required

Salary: $90,000.00 – $110,000.00 per year
