Position: Full-time

Salary range: $70,000 to $80,000 per annum

About the role:

·         Construct, shape and repair brick, concrete blocks, and stone structures for both commercial and residential clients.

·         Read and understand drawings and specifications to determine materials required

·         Arrange and set bricks in mortar and other binding materials to create walls, arches and other structures or renovate them

·         Accurately measure and calculate to ensure proper proportions and symmetry

·         Cut and polish natural and engineered stones, cement blocks or bricks using wet cutting and polishing hand tools.

·         Ensure alignment by placing blocks in mortar and remove any excess

·         Choose appropriate quality of bricks for each project based on factors like durability, appearance, and intended use

·         Identify necessary materials, dimensions and installation methods.

·         Work safely on scaffolding and swing stages at various heights.

·         Perform building foundation layout with proper use of measuring tools.

·         Examine existing brick buildings to gauge the need for repairs.

·         Prepare the work area using chalk lines, tapes, squares, and levels.

 Requirements:

·         Minimum Certificate III in Bricklaying. Extensive work experience can substitute the qualification requirement

·         Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

·         Australian work experience is essential

·         Understanding of different stone properties

·         Knowledge and experience with heavy and power tools

 Skills:

·         Familiarity with traditional and modern bricklaying and stonemasonry technique

·         Team Building

·         Knowledge of Materials used in Australian construction industry

·         Strong attention to detail and an eye for design and symmetry.

·         Physical Fitness and Stamina

·         Knowledge of Construction Tools

·         Angle calculation

·         Demonstrate accurate measurement, calculation, and project layout skills.

Australian citizens and permanent residents are preferred.
