We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Farm Manager to join our team at our Warmur farm in the wimmera mallee of Victoria, 3482.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations within cutting edge, tunnel ventilated RSPCA free range broiler bird farm, providing strong leadership and management to a small team of 2 staff members, in order to ensure cost effective and efficient bird production. As the Farm Manager, your main duties will include (but not limited to):
- Monitoring and reporting on KPI’s and other metrics as directed and required
- Leading, training and motivating a team to achieve quality outcomes in a professional and commercial environment
- Being committed and actively creating an environment that drives continuous improvement in animal welfare, quality, productivity and environmental awareness
- Adhering to relevant legislation and Company/processor policies, principles and procedures
- Ensuring biosecurity, health and safety, environmental and animal welfare procedures are adhered to at all times. Ensuring high a standard in animal welfare in everything you do
- Liaising with producer company representatives, ensuring positive working relationships are maintained.
- Using different shed management techniques in order to find optimum bird growing requirements.
- Maintaining a high level of farm presentation at all times
About Us
Stockdale Farms operates a free-range Broiler farm in Warmur, Victoria, producing high quality poultry for Hazeldene’s. We are a progressive farm with 6 houses holding 45,000 birds each with the scope to grow further.
About you
To be considered for the Farm Manager position, you’ll need to have at least one year experience in managing the operations of a Broiler farm. Be a strong people leader, with experience supporting and developing your team to ensusure a high level of quality in the operations you manage.
You are efficient, with excellent attention to detail and a can-do attitude. Be a proven self-starter who is able to work well in a small team. The successful applicant must have the right to work in Australia and be an open minded, passionate, competent, and hands-on leader. Have high regard for Safety, Health, Environment and Quality and will work with our people to proactively support a positive WHS culture across the organisation.
You must be physically fit and able to do the role.
