Due to our ongoing business growth, we urgently require an onsite full-time Building and Surveying Technician.
Responsibilities
- Drafting working drawings and preparing sketchers.
- Consulting and communicating with project managers, owners, architects and local authorities to ensure requirements and goals of project are met.
- Perform technical functions to assist Construction Managers, Architect’s and Surveyors by supervising and inspecting construction sites.
- Managing sub-contractors on sites.
- Reading, studying and interpreting engineering and architectural plans.
- Complete projects within time and budgets.
- Maintaining quality control measures.
- Inspecting work and materials for compliance with specifications, regulations and standards.
- Liaise with the drafting team, Engineers and clients.
- Processing tenders.
- Preparing and monitoring budget/costs during ongoing projects.
- Manage and monitor WHS compliance in the workplace.
- Provide comprehensive reports outlining compliance to structural requirements.
- Reporting to management team.
- Co-ordinate and organize daily work and provide guidance and supervision to the team.
- Develop solutions for problems of routine complexity and Estimating the required materials and labour.
Skill Level and Experience Required
- Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Associate Degree, Advanced diploma or Diploma level is required.
- At least three years of full-time work experience is highly relevant and may substitute the formal Qualification.
- Knowledge of the construction and fabrication Industry.
- Ability to interpret and study engineering and architectural documentation.
- Experience working in the industry.
- Strong time management skills and communication skills.
- Works independently as well as in a team. Excellent communication skills – oral and written.
- Highly motivated with strong compliance and ethical standards.
- Knowledge of the Australian Standards and Building Codes and the Ability to travel.
