The Company:
With a strong pipeline of Multi-Res & Mixed Use Commercial projects CGC are in search for a Building Cadet ready to excel in the industry with multiple projects valuing from $5million - $55million.
About the Role:
As the Building Cadet you will engage in many opportunities to learn, whilst bringing new initiatives to the table. The key to this position is growth whilst giving you the solutions about document control, contract administration, site engineering and projects.
Key Responsibility of the role:
- Subcontractor procurement and managing letting schedules
- Tendering & Estimating
- Supporting the Projects Team and/ or Line Management with all day to day tasks
- Preparing & issuing trade package tender documentation;
- Interpret plans and specifications to understand the full scope of works for the projects
- Sub-contractor and consultant liaison
- Preparing letting schedule in conjunction with the project manager;
- Proactively seeking opportunities to improve overall project performance;
- Assisting with Site Supervisor & Project Manager administrative roles;
- Setting up, monitoring and maintaining drawing/document register including distributing all construction documentation and revisions as required;
- Attending all site meetings and ‘project control group’ meetings as required. Minute meetings as
- Required;
- Ensuring cost control procedures are maintained;
- Preparing monthly cost reports and forecasting of preliminaries and trade costs;
- Recommending changes in design details to increase efficiency of construction;
- Reviewing work procedures before work commences, for quality compliance;
- Setting up and maintaining quality control register.
About You:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Building, Construction or Engineering favorable
- Communication and interpersonal skills for developing and maintaining client and subcontractor relationships.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Excellent time management and prioritisation skills to deliver timely client response
- ability to work in a high pace environment
