We are now expanding and looking for an experienced, hands-on professional to join and lead this new arm of business.
The Opportunity:
This newly created opportunity is for an experienced Building Designer to be part of the Bison Team, which requires reporting to the management team, the successful candidate will play a key role in the complete cycle of projects from concept drawings to submissions through to council approval. Key project focus areas will be Warehouse and Workshops with office complexes, and large-scale agricultural processing facilities.
You will be responsible for:
- Preparing concept drawings including liaising with clients and councils in the pre-DA stage
- Preparing DA drawings and submitting to council.
- Preparing BA drawings and submitting to council.
- Follow up of councils in both the DA and BA phase of the approval process.
- Liaising with engineers and building surveyors to ensure timely council approvals.
- Project Documentation
- Reporting to the management team on project status
About you:
To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate:
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in the design field
- Qualifications as a Building Designer
- Exemplary experience with 3D CAD drawings using Revit.
- Project management experience with skill to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of the council approval process
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
- Proactive approach to problem solving and strong decision-making skills.
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- You are tenacious to push projects through to completion within tight timelines.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
