Building Surveyor 

1 x Permanent Full Time - 35 hours, 5 days per week 

Salary: $91,321.32 - $100,064.84 + Super + Council leaseback vehicle

ABOUT THE ROLE

Liverpool City Council is guiding this rapid transformation and is seeking experienced Building Surveyors to contribute to the development of our growing community in a beautiful urban and rural environment. The diverse and challenging role will provide you with an opportunity to work in a mix of high rise urban, greenfield residential and rural situations.

The role will see you provide professional advice and process applications to meet statutory requirements in addition to carrying out the inspection and certification services of the Certification Unit. You will also be required to communicate well in clarifying requirements and conveying information to a diverse client group.

ABOUT YOU

Our desired candidate will have:

  • A Degree, Graduate Diploma or Diploma in Building, Engineering, Construction field or equivalent with a minimum A4 Accreditation under NSW BPB Accreditation Scheme (Building Inspector under Building Development Certifiers Regulations (Council provides funding for annual renewal of accreditation and continuing professional development for this position)
  • Experience in assessing and determining Construction Certificates, Occupation Certificates, Complying Development Certificates and Building Certificates for all classes of buildings in accordance with relevant Acts and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in carrying out critical stage inspections for all classes of buildings; and
  • A working knowledge of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979, Local Government Act 1993, Building Code of Australia, and other related legislation.
