Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Bushland Officer in our passionate and innovative Biodiversity Team. Are you positive curious and passionate about the natural environment? If you have a biodiversity or environment qualification or are near completion one you may be our ideal candidate! This role is fundamental in protecting, enhancing and celebrating the sites of biological significance within the Knox municipality. In addition, this role will increase the appreciation and understanding of biodiversity values within the organisation and the broader community. You will also participate in biodiversity community events and activities. This is a full-time permanent role based at our Civic Centre however we can offer a range of flexible work options for the right candidate.
This is a Band 4 classified role, remuneration will be $69,307.00 - $73,819.44 (depending on experience) plus superannuation in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee.
What you will need to thrive
The key selection criteria for this role are:
The position requires proficiency in the operation of more complex knowledge, including local indigenous plant communities, natural resource management practices, bushfire preparedness and fire regimes, plant ecology, pest plant and pest animal management, herbicide use and application.
Provide biodiversity expertise to the organisation.
Provide a high commitment to customer service.
Support work of organised volunteer groups.
Demonstrate an understanding of the biodiversity values of the natural environment, and the benefits for the local community.
