Form of workNQM Gold 2 Pty Ltd is an Australian gold explorer, developer, and producer since 2009. Located southwest of Townsville, the Pajingo mine is around 50km from Charters Towers and employs approximately 250 people to run the underground mining and the ore processing operations. Charters Towers is close to Townsville and the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef, and it offers all the facilities you would expect in a large regional town.
We are experiencing a period of exciting growth at our Pajingo gold operation and currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to be based in our Corporate West Perth Office on a 5/2 Roster.
About the role:
Reporting to the Principal Business Analyst, this role is pivotal to supporting the finance function and ensuring the provision of accurate and timely information relating to finance and commercial activities to management, and for Corporate Statutory and Board reporting. The focus of the role requires the application of internal financial controls and must meet external compliance requirements.
The key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
- Complete month end reporting on time.
- Analysis of monthly results with a view to provide insight on variances and trends.
- To assist with the development, monitoring and improvement of operating budgets and forecasts
- To assist with project analysis and tracking
- To assist with Business Improvement data capture, tracking and analysis
- To assist with capital expenditure and the fixed asset register
- Assist with other financial requirements as needed
- Assist with the coordination of the half year and end of year audit programs
- Assist with the identification, development and implementation of operations-specific processes, systems, practices, and procedures for cost control, reporting, and accuracy.
About you:
The successful candidate will have a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Commerce or Finance and preferably will have completed a CPA, CA, or ICA. Previous experience working in a similar role as a Business Analyst in a finance department in the mining industry for a minimum of five years with ability to build a financial models would be considered highly favourable. Experience with Pronto, SAP, Power BI will give you an advantage. Together with your ability to build collaborative and productive working relationships across the organisation and with key external stakeholders will be critical to your success in this role.
