The role is initially offered as a 12-month contract with a strong likelihood of retention within the business long-term. The client currently operates a hybrid work model with 3 days per week on-site at their CBD office.
Responsibilities
- Develop and refine business analysis methodologies, best practices and standards.
- Establish a strong framework that encompasses governance, standard/policy setting and compliance assessment/monitoring of adoption across all technology initiatives in the agency.
- Foster a working environment where decisions are data based and reporting is self-serviceable.
- Standardize processes for requirements elicitation, analysis, documentation, and validation.
- Ensure that business analysis practices align with industry standards (e.g., BABOK) and organizational needs.
- Define and implement an appropriate sourcing strategy within the BA COE to support run and change initiatives.
- Work closely with teams evaluating and determining the practices and tooling that make them more productive, fostering a continuous improvement culture.
- Work closely with teams to implement leaner ways for product portfolio management and backlog management, grooming, prioritisation, monitoring and control and retrospectives.
- Network with professionals solving similar challenges within the agency and in the industry.
- Set clear expectations, define roles and responsibilities, and facilitate career development for team members.
- Build a strong governance framework, in line with overall project management framework.
- Ensure teams are aligned and compliant to endorsed standards and policies set within the BA COE.
- Manage register for current engagement, allocate resources and ensure that the team is appropriately staffed for ongoing and upcoming projects.
- Work with partner and peers to continue to build industry intelligence and on-going relationships that benefit the organisation.
- Work with teams to provide oversight around Project Charter, SoW (Statement of Works), High Level Requirements (inception stage), inputs to evaluation process (RFQ/RFP) and due diligence, as needed.
- Encourage innovation within the business analysis team, promoting the adoption of new tools and techniques.
- Be a qualified technology professional with demonstrated relevant experience.
- Certified Business Analyst (e.g. CBAP).
- Certificate in Project Management (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification) would be an added advantage.
- Experience in managing and leading Business Analysis practice / COE.
- Proficient in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and project delivery tools.
- Experience leading projects end to end using various methodologies with heavy focus on agility.
- Willingness to explore innovative solutions and approaches to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience in managing and leading Business Analysis practice / COE.
- Proficient in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and project delivery tools.
- Experience leading projects end to end using various methodologies with heavy focus on agility.

- Development or continuous improvement of methodologies, frameworks and tooling relevant to the practice.
- Ability to partner with areas across technology to deliver high quality business outcomes.
- Proven expertise in tools like JIRA and Confluence.
- Experience in working in a matrix organisation environment.

- Ability to oversee the delivery of large and complex technical initiatives.
- Prior experience working in financial services especially investment management / fund management / asset management would be an added advantage.
