Position Title: Business Development Manager
Part-time or Full-time for 12 months, with opportunity for contract renewal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Maintain Relationships: Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with existing and potential project partners, developing project requirements for mutually-beneficial collaborations.
- Project Liaison: Liaise with our partners, monitor the execution of project plans, and maintain relationships.
- Strategic Alignment: Discover and foster business opportunities that align with the Company’s strategic objectives, direction, and mission.
- Commercial Sales and other revenue: Assist the CEO to capitalise on business opportunities by achieving sales of VetChip’s technology. Win grants and other funding sources to fund ongoing technological development.
- Animal Health Expertise: Leverage broad animal health knowledge to inform project development and ensure the relevance and efficacy of VetChip’s health monitoring technology.
- Travel: Undertake national or international travel as agreed and approved to meet with partners, attend conferences, and explore new business opportunities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including tech, finance/marketing, and operations, to ensure cohesive and effective project execution.
- Market Expertise: Use detailed market analyses to identify new business opportunities and stay abreast of industry trends.
- Reporting: Provide regular detailed updates and reports to the CEO on opportunities, partner engagement, Business Development activities as well as report against agreed targets and KPIs. Regular updates to the wider Executive Leadership Team.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications:
- Animal Health Background: Ideally, a degree in Veterinary Science or a related field, with extensive knowledge and understanding of animal health.
- Business Development: Strong background in Business Development, including partner engagement, negotiation, and strategic planning.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Willingness to Travel: Ability and willingness to travel globally as required.
- Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with animal health monitoring technology and a keen interest in technological advancements in the veterinary field. Ability to describe technology to both technical and non-technical parties.
- Industry knowledge: Current knowledge of animal health industries, including equine, service dogs, research animals, production animals and pets.
