Over the years they've grown amazing produce partnerships with farmers, hotels, restaurants, retailers and institutions.
About The Role
As a Business Development Manager you will be a key contributor to their growth strategy by expanding their client base and fostering lasting relationships. Simon George & Sons are seeking a results-oriented individual with a proven track record in Business Development, strong communication skills, and a passion for the fresh produce industry. You will also maintain some Account Management responsibilities alongside a dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within multiple industry.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns.
- Research and develop innovative growth strategies within targeted industry sectors.
- Prepare compelling business proposals for potential clients and respond to Tenders.
- Foster and expand comprehensive industry knowledge to identify and nurture a pipeline of potential customers.
- Monitor current market trends and opportunities, making recommendations for service and product enhancements.
- Keep the company's CRM (Salesforce) updated with current client information and milestones.
- Regularly report sales activities, new client opportunities, and growth within current accounts to the General Manager.
- Proven experience as a Business Development Manager or in a similar role.
- Understanding of the fresh produce market and supply chain would be advantageous.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Successful sourcing of new clients and growth within existing clients.
- Successful achievement of sales budget.
