The role:

The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for managing, improving, and innovating how the company uses its platforms and software with short and long-term projects. Working together with the Admissions, IT and Business Intelligence (BI) Departments, this individual is accountable for the ongoing quality and security of systems while finding ways to improve processes and procedures through automation and technology. On top of data integrity, this individual is also an excellent communicator that shares projects with various departments and stakeholders and has solid project management skills to complement their BI expertise. This position is a full-time, ongoing position, working 38 hours per week based in Sydney, NSW. 

In this role your will:

• Actively work with the admissions and Business Intelligence team to develop and document business requirements in order to improve the admissions processes and procedures via new technologies and system tools.
• Responsible to identify, investigate and analyse business practices, procedures, in order to optimise the admissions business strategy, such as develop methodologies to improve the admissions department communication using suitable technologies.
• Responsible to develop and coordinate Information system projects related to admissions department.
• Coordinate information systems business strategies for admissions department and act as the main reference for information source, as well as provide assistance and guidance for admissions system project decision making process.
• Responsible for the usage of data and process modelling techniques, such as dataflow diagram for better visualization and communication centralization, UML diagrams and user interface system specifications for the design and development of new features of the company’s system, prioritizing data integrity, consistency and user usability.
• Develop projects for functional solutions in the admissions department, such as implementing new systems test plans in order to ensure reliable data quality and integrity before the release of the new system or tool.
• Analyse business processes, procedures, and environments to recommend and implement the best possible solutions and systems.
• Design and develop data visualisation using Power BI and other BI technology.
• Work with complex datasets following the best practices of data modelling.
• Developed data visualization solutions aimed at improving decision-making processes within the business, effectively presenting complex information in a visually accessible manner.
• Automate ongoing business reporting processes by utilizing Python programming language and Zapier.
• Provide support to end users and maintain BI systems in production, such as SMS (Student Management System), Hubspot, Zapier, Jotform, Microsoft package, Zendesk, Zoom, Moodle System, Mentimeter and Trello.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, resulting in high level stakeholder satisfaction and engagement.
• Establish appropriate data definitions and business rules for reporting, which are documented and implemented consistently.
• Project manage implementation and ensure system functionality and specifications are of acceptable standard and as per scope of work.
• Developing user documentation and training materials, as well as facilitating formal training sessions to ensure the company's procedures were followed.
• Serving as a central point of reference and information, offering advice and support in the decision-making process of the system project.
• Creating detailed functional and non-functional specifications for SMS (Student Management System) implementation.
• Collaborating for the implementation of functional solutions, including the creation, adoption, and execution of system test plans, to ensure SMS's quality and integrity meet acceptable standards by Company and Stakeholders.

Successful candidates will need to demonstrate the following:

• Relevant Bachelor Degree 
• Atleast 2 years if relevant work experience. 
• Experience with Education systems including Canvas, RTO Manager, Moodle and PRISMS (preferred but not essential)
• Strong understanding of BI and experience dealing with large and complex datasets
• Understanding of web APIs and how they work between systems.
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Highly developed time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
• Forward-thinking and up to date with the latest IT and BI technology and innovations
• Knowledge of programming languages such as Java/JSON and SQL queries is beneficial
