The Transperth System, Regional Town and School Bus Services (TRSBS) Division of the PTA has an exciting opportunity available and is seeking applications from highly motivated, dynamic, and experienced Business Intelligence and analytics professionals.
The Role
As a senior member of the TRSBS Division, you will lead Transperth's Business Intelligence (BI) team to deliver a best practice unified BI service for Transperth within the TRSBS Division, and to the wider PTA and external stakeholders with a user self-service focus. As Transperth's BI lead you'll work closely with a wide range of partners to stay informed of evolving business needs and provide analytical support across business, operations, service and infrastructure planning, and technology domains.
You'll use the combined resources of your business focused team, and contracted specialist public transport data warehousing and analytics service provider, to deliver innovative BI solutions with a service delivery and utilisation focus. Rich service delivery data is captured for the Transperth public transport network (Bus, Train, and Ferry) with over 6 million service trips a year covering 90 million service kilometres and passing stops 195 million times. This data is fully integrated with over 265 million customer travel transactions a year using a combination of ticketing and automated people counter technologies, and sophisticated modelling. You will lead efforts to define the organisational and BI requirements, develops information assurance, data engineering and data communication strategies to realise reliable, available, and maintained data and information for Transperth.

There is currently one permanent, full time vacancy available for filling. Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur for up to 12 months.
About You
You will have a high level of analytical aptitude with a strong interest in technology and a passion for using data to solve complex business problems through customer focused service delivery.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A tertiary qualification in data analytics or other relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive experience in Business Intelligence or analytics in a complex public facing or asset intensive operational industry.
- Substantial demonstrated experience leading data driven sustainable business improvement.
- Highly developed understanding of Business Intelligence concepts, technologies, tools, and management.
- Proven ability to provide strategic leadership in the continual improvement and management of complex Business Intelligence or related capabilities.
- Substantial experience in the management and leadership of a high-performing team, achieving agreed outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in contract management.
- Leadership skills with the ability to work with others at all levels and across an organisation in a professional way.
- Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to resolve problems, negotiate and consult with a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed general understanding of information technology in an enterprise setting.
- Proven experience using contemporary Business Intelligence or analysis tools.
