We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Business Partner to join the People & Culture team! Reporting to the Lead P&C Business Partner and based at Caulfield Racecourse, this role is pivotal and will act as a main conduit between business leaders (across both PLG and MRC) and the P&C team. This P&C Business Partner will empower leaders through the provision of data, tools, and support to achieve their business and people strategies. This is the perfect opportunity for a junior P&C Business Partner or Senior P&C Advisor looking to advance their career.
The Melbourne Racing Club (MRC) is one of Australia's most prestigious Sports, Hospitality, Events, and Property Development companies. As well as running elite horse racing at Caulfield, Sportsbet Sandown, and Mornington Racecourses, we own 14 pub venues under the Pegasus Leisure Group (PLG), an emerging collection of owned events such as The Peninsula Picnic and the MRC Foundation, our charitable arm. As we have multiple sites, there will be some requirements to travel between our PLG venues and Racecourses as required.
What will my responsibilities be?
- Effective partnering and collaboration with key stakeholders across the business.
- Providing guidance and support to business leaders on employee relations matters, including performance or behaviour matters.
- Execute talent identification and succession planning processes are developed and maintained for the portfolio.
- Continuously developing the D&I strategy, identifying and implementing new people initiatives.
- Ensure change management processes are identified and effectively managed across the business.
- Working collaboratively with the Organisational Development team and leaders to deliver training programs in support of individual growth aspirations and business requirements.
- Assist in the recruitment and contractual processes for the business, encompassing interviewing, and providing counsel to P&C Shared Services on variations, promotions, and advertising strategies.
- Working with leaders to develop business proposals covering new roles, structure changes, growth initiatives, etc for approval by the Executive.
- Provide effective P&C support for strategic projects.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills Required
- Experience in a P&C Business Partner or Senior P&C Advisor role.
- Tertiary qualifications in P&C or related field.
- Technical understanding of ER processes and procedures and an ability to manage cases end to end.
- A good understanding of the many disciplines within P&C, including diversity and inclusion, performance management, compensation and benefits, talent management, etc.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to think strategically, analyse problems and issues, respond creatively, and translate/implement strategy into results.
- Demonstrated and highly developed stakeholder management capabilities.
- Ability to work productively in a fast-paced and agile environment.
- Experience working in Hospitality/Events industries (desirable).
