Business Services Accountant - Large Firm

Our clients: Our clients are an award leading top tier accounting firm located in the heart of Canberra. They provide a full range of accounting, business consulting, tax advice and SMSF services. We are looking either a junior and senior accountants to join the team with salary commensurate to experience. 

Our client focuses on working with a bespoke client base and looking for high-performing Business Services Accountants to join their team. There are ample career progression opportunities and also great exposure to a variety of complex clients where training will be provided.  

If have completed or looking to study CA/CPA this will be the ideal role for you.  The cost of studies and additional study days off are all covered. You will have access to professional development and career growth, but you must bring a proactive, motivated attitude to make things happen.

Role and responsibility:

• Managing client relationships and ensuring client deadlines are met
• BAS, Tax and preparation of financial statements
• Preparation of tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts
• Preparation of financial statements and financial activity statements
• Development of junior staff members
• Handling tax department audits, enquiries and correspondence on Client behalf in accordance with a Nominees consent and instructions.
• Check assessments and draft assessment letters.
• Other projects as required

Requirements

• The successful candidate will have at least 12 months professional  accounting practice experience 
• Accounting related degree is required 
• Must be Australian Citizen / Permanent Resident 
• Looking to start or CA/CPA qualified
• Outstanding relationship and communication skills are also essential as the role requires extensive contact with your client base.
