About the division:

With teams located within North Canberra Hospital (Bruce) and Canberra Hospital (Garran), People and Culture are responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational implementation of human resource strategies, relating to a diverse range of human resource and industrial relations functions across Canberra Health Services. We have opportunities available in both locations.

About the role:

We are seeking HR professionals with a passion for contemporary HR practice to join our growing team of Business Partners. As an HR Business Partner, you will provide sound operational and strategic advice to the Executive and Management teams, translating our operational plans into tangible action.

Reporting to the Senior Business Partner, Business Partners work closely with their allocated management teams in conjunction with the centres of expertise, to provide an integrated and client focused approach. As a Business Partner you will have the ability to balance the need for consistency, and the importance of local, responsive and flexible approaches to HR services, advocating for and on behalf of the client, to assist the Canberra Health Services in achieving an engaged and high performing workforce. Join a dynamic and growing team playing a pivotal role in improving our health service.

You will play a key role in leading case management within your allocated Division, while assisting the Senior Business Partners to operationalise Divisional People & Culture plans and strategies.

Requirements/Qualifications: (highly desirable)

● Relevant tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or equivalent experience

● Have an understanding of how the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) indicators align with this role.

● Fulfil the responsibilities of this role in alignment to the CHS Exceptional Care Framework, Clinical Governance Framework, Partnering With Consumers Framework and all other related frameworks.

● Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under theWorking with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.

● Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check.

● Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy.

Canberra Hospital Expansion Project – CHS is constructing a new critical services building called ‘Building 5’ which is a 44,000sqm nine storey building specifically designed to deliver state-of-the-art acute clinical services at the Canberra Hospital. Building 5 is the largest healthcare infrastructure project undertaken in the Territory’s history and it represents the largest clinical and operational change program to ever be implemented by Canberra Health Services. Building 5 integrates with a number of existing buildings at the Campus including Building 1 and Building 2, to facilitate a seamless public thoroughfare, patient transportation and back-of-house logistics distribution.

North Canberra Hospital - As of 3 July 2023 Calvary Public Hospital Bruce transitioned to CHS and became North Canberra Hospital. The transition will deliver a health system networked under one provider and will provide increased workforce opportunities for staff at both CHS sites. The ACT Government will be building a new northside hospital on the existing hospital campus in Bruce to meet the growing health care needs of our community, with construction to commence mid-decade providing more beds, increased services, and increased career opportunities.
