Business Solution Architect

The Business Solution Architect is responsible for designing and delivering a set of effective divisional capabilities which unlock innovation and business performance via data analytics across Australia Retail & Commercial. They will partner with the Data Architect to bring a technical expertise that defines the practices and processes that Commercial Data & Analytics adopt to deliver each of their functional remits, ensuring consistency of best practice and data maturity across the Division. They will interface into Australia Retail Data to ensure alignment with group platform strategy.
 

The Business Solution Architect is critical to making this happen and will:

• Understand the data and analytics demand, data user requirements & key priorities across the Australia Data portfolio and build a platform/tool roadmap in response

• Establish a business/technology architecture and operating model which drive up worker effectiveness, consolidates fragmented technical solutions and drive down cost
• Champion the use of selected data and analytics tools/platforms to solve practical problems using data-driven capabilities and consolidate demand
• Manage a complex stakeholder environment and effectively prioritising your time and ability to commit to delivery.

Role Location: Melbourne but open to other Australian based locations 

Role Type: Permanent

To grow and be successful in the role, you will ideally bring the following:
 

• Deep and broad understanding of the end to end data analytics ecosystem – demonstrated knowledge across several of the leading data platform providers and technology approaches (on premise and on cloud)
• Ability to rapidly understand & clearly articulate strengths and weaknesses of other available ANZ platforms and articulate technology/capability choice sets based on this in order to drive capability uplift
• Ability to bridge business requirements through to technical architecture and articulate operating model requirements
• Ability to apply analytical systems scripting language/s, (Python or R) and supporting data extract/transform/load applications and orchestration (Control M) in an enterprise context
• Skilled in software engineering practices including using source control systems
• Skilled in Business solution design
