About the Role
This role is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Solutions architect who is looking for autonomy within their role. Swinburne University of Technology is seeking a dynamic and innovative Business Solution Architect to join our dedicated team. To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience that supports the following role responsibilities:

• Design and implement Business Solutions that align with Swinburne’s strategic moon shots, focusing on work-integrated learning, graduate employability, tech solutions for partners, and establishing global best practices
• Collaborate with our industry partners, our community, and our government partners to co-create tailored Business Solutions that drive solid outcomes
• Play a leading role in the collaboration of cross-functional teams in developing, planning, and executing projects, ensuring that solutions aligned with expected business outcomes
• Maintain a strong understanding of the business’ strategic goals and in doing so formulate high level business roadmaps for programs of work
• Collaborate with the rest of the architecture team and use their expertise in the latest technology trends to ensure that Swinburne maintains its competitive edge as a forward-looking, industry-engaged institution
• Facilitate the transformation of traditional academic models by integrating digital platforms and innovative educational technologies
• Create capability models and value chains as a Rosetta stone for the business and IT to understand each other, and for IT to deliver aligned solutions
• Create enterprise roadmaps that outline the evolution and transformation of the university's technology landscape to ensure alignment with our long-term goals
• Develop and maintain architecture policies and standards that guide the design, development, and deployment of scalable and sustainable technology solutions
• Utilize formal architectural frameworks, particularly TOGAF, to establish a consistent approach to the university's enterprise architecture development
• Understand enterprise architecture, data architecture, application architecture, business analysis, data analysis and logical systems design

These responsibilities will require a candidate with a strong background in architectural principles, strategic planning, and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that align with Swinburne University's vision and objectives.Qualifications & Skills

• A graduate degree level qualification in a relevant discipline with subsequent relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience, education, and training.
• Extensive experience in a similar role, ideally within a higher education or technology-focused organization
• Proven track record of developing and implementing Business Solutions that leverage technology for educational and operational excellence
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including industry partners, academic staff, and government bodies
• Strategic thinking with the ability to anticipate future trends in technology and education
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive environment in line with Swinburne’s vision and values

Desirable Attributes:

• Experience in designing solutions that incorporate work-integrated learning and industry engagement
• Familiarity with the Australian higher education sector and global technology trends
• A passion for innovation, entrepreneurship, and a drive to contribute to building a better world through education and technology
