Job description

Atwell College is seeking two (2) highly effective Business Support Officers (BSO) to join their friendly team.We currently have the following positions available:

  • 1x - permanent full-time position – BSO Finance
  • 1x – permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position – BSO Curriculum Support
All positions will commence Term 2, 2024The successful applicants will assist the Manager Corporate Services with a wide range of business operations including financial management and curriculum support services of the school’s operations. They will also assist in the preparation and monitoring of the school budget and develop and maintain business and information management systems.The BSO Financial Management and Curriculum Support will coordinate and support a range of internal and external processes. The complex nature of the roles will ideally require the successful applicant to be a hardworking individual, with highly effective communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The successful applicant should have exceptional organisational and time management skills and the ability to effectively work autonomously as required.The successful applicants should display a focus on teamwork, self-motivation and initiative as well as model effective customer service, administrative support and service delivery in order to assist the college in meeting its corporate and strategic business goals. They should also have excellent communication and organisational skills.The BSO Finance role at Atwell College has a strong focus on financial management. Knowledge of departmental policies in Finance, RM Finance, RM Billing, Assets and EOM procedures will be well regarded. The position will also provide support to the Manager Corporate Services in financial management of the college's business operations and systems as well as assist with the administration of the school’s facilities and organisation of staff. The successful applicants should be able to prioritise tasks effectively, work well under pressure and ideally have a strong knowledge of Microsoft suite products including Microsoft excel.The BSO is fundamental to the administrative operation of the College and should possess excellent interpersonal skills, combined with the ability to work both in a team environment and autonomously. With keen attention to detail and a willingness to be flexible, Business Support Officers will assist the Manager Corporate Services with a variety of projects including: the provision of senior finance advice and coordination; assistance with writing and submitting grant applications; coordination of office functions; coordinating relief for allied professional staff; and the provision of administrative support for the various systems used by the College.The BSO Curriculum Support will provide administrative, reporting, and timetabling support to the Principal, Deputy Principals and teaching staff. They will maintain and monitor a range of administrative and curriculum related databases to ensure integrity of school data, extract and generate reports, and provide data to the school administration team to enhance school operations.High level Information Computer Technology (ICT) skills, including the ability to use spreadsheets to manipulate data, and relevant knowledge, understanding and experience of Integris, Compass, Reporting to Parents (RTP), SCASA and SIRS reporting will all be highly regarded. Supporting timetable maintenance within Integris will be a key element of this role.Atwell College is a modern and progressive government secondary school in the suburb of Atwell, south of the Perth metropolitan area. The college has grown with the area and now accommodates approximately 1000 students from within the Atwell College intake area.   • Considerable experience providing input and effective support to the development, management, implementation and monitoring of business operations, systems and plans.
  • Well developed financial management skills, including data analysis, interpretation and reporting, and the ability to provide recommendations.

  • sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
