The RFDS is a national, charitable, health organisation delivering primary healthcare and 24-hour emergency services for those that live in rural and remote Australia. Long known as one of the largest aeromedical organisations in the world, the RFDS delivers health care where mainstream health services are not available, using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology and a broad-reaching ground-service fleet.
The RFDS Federation Office is responsible for maintaining relations with the Commonwealth Government and overseeing commonwealth funding, brand, research and advocacy on behalf of the RFDS Federation.
About the RoleThis newly created position will play a key role in ensuring effective and efficient operation of a variety of Federation Office activities, and provide administrative support to the Executive Office business unit.
Key Responsibilities- Manage reception, front-of-house and general office activities
- Provide administrative and secretariat support for all-staff meetings, events, correspondence and activities
- Maintain effectiveness of the organisation's Contract Management System
- Maintain effectiveness of Work, Health & Safety activities
- Manage the processing of Accounts Payable activities including receiving, processing and verifying invoices
- Provide administrative support to ensure effectiveness of end-to-end HR and Quality functions and activities
Required
- Highly developed organisational and planning skills, with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills including excellent phone manner and the ability to initiate and prepare correspondence including spell-check and formatting.
- Demonstrated capacity to work independently, show initiative and exercise discretionary judgment.
- Meeting and minute taking coordination
- Accounts payable experience or understanding of the processes
- Efficient management of a multi-tasking environment.
- Highly confidential and professional, ethical and moral
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
- Minimum 3-years’ experience in a similar role
- Certificate III or IV in Business Administration or significant progress towards completion
- Experience with using a variety of IT software solutions such as TechnologyOne (finance & contract management), eTapestry (donation management)
- To be located in Canberra (office located in Barton)
